Bacillati

Les Bacillati sont un règne du domaine Bacteria – taxon qui réunit toutes les bactéries connues. Son nom provient de Bacillus qui est le genre type de ce règne^[1].

Description

Le règne des Bacillati est une élévation du rang taxonomique des Firmicutes selon la définition de Gibbons et Murray de 1978.

Taxonomie

Le nom correct complet (avec auteur) de ce taxon est Bacillati (Gibbons & Murray 1978) Oren & Göker 2024^[2].

Le genre type est Bacillus Cohn 1872^[2].

Étymologie

L'étymologie du nom de ce règne Bacillati est la suivante : Ba.cil.la’ti. L. masc. n. Bacillus, genre type du règne ; N.L. neut. pl. n. suff. -ati, suffixe pour définir un règne; N.L. fem. pl. n. Bacillati, le règne de Bacillus ^[2].
