southpaw

Composé de south (« sud ») et de paw (« patte, paluche »). Provient du baseball, dont le terrain s’oriente tel que le frappeur, qui doit voir nettement la balle blanche lancée vers lui, est à l’ouest du lanceur afin d’éviter qu’il ait un soleil couchant dans les yeux. Donc le bras lanceur d’un gaucher est au sud.
